BIRTHDAY ;)

By Miranda:
So today we celebrated dad's 49th b'day which is on Monday! :) He had no idea that we were gonna celebrate his b'day cause we told him we were having a barbeque at a friends house. It was so much fun...when he got to the friends house (Pixie's) he walked in the door and everyone shouted Happy B'day. It was a blast and he had a huge cake and great gifts. Thanx Ms. Christie for hosting the partayy. :) And thanx to everyone who came lol. It made dad smile and laugh a lot so...which is important for the next couple of months. lol :)

This is Doralyn. We went to the girls spring football game yesterday and got to watch Miranda for the first time as the varsity cheer leading captain and Dayna as a varsity cheerleader. Yeah! Ferrell enjoyed seeing all the people we hang around during marching band and cheer leading seasons. It was fabulous to see him enjoying himself! Tonight we went to the country club to watch the guys come in from a night tournament. I got to meet some of the people I hear Ferrell talk about all the time. It was very cool! We are excitedly(if that is a word) looking forward to going to New York first thing Tuesday morning on a Gulf Power jet. Gulf Power is awesome! We will be there in 2 1/2 hours with a limo waiting on us to zip us to Dr. Issacson's office to go through Ferrell's radiation and chemo plan. He will be having gamma knife radiation and Temodar chemo. Radiation 5 times a week which will take all day each day. They will put him in a twilight sleep and numb the four screw holes in his head(hope he doesn't have any loose screws:-P) and then screw the halo onto his head. I bet he will look angelic with it. Then he goes into the gamma knife tube(head only) and into another locking halo. The gamma knife shots 190 something beams of radiation to a pinhead size area. Then they will move him and do this to all the areas that need radiation. Don't know how many at this point just know it will be multiple points. He has to take oral chemo everyday. Glad we have insurance that stuff costs $288 a pill and he will need several a day. Chemo is seven days a week for six weeks. We will be looking for an apartment the first couple of days we are going to be there so that the girls can come out and stay with us from mid-June to mid-July. We will be there about 8 weeks or so and then he will get 30 days off and then a week of radiation and chemo per month as long as necessary. WE WILL BEAT THIS! Please keep the prayers coming as this helps all of us tremendously. That's all for tonight. I will try to get on here more often to post.
To Dad by Miranda Sasser

The horror of death
is painful to see.
The agony of suffering
is too much to hear.
The tears of sadness,
The Feeling of death.

The look of a seizure
portrays death.
The sound of air thru
the lungs.
Oh-it's a miracle!
Breaths, breaths, breaths!
Thank you God for breaths!

The look of confusion.
The act of disorientation.
Nothing is remembered-
Nothing, nothing, nothing!

The feeling of life
Oh, how great is life!
Thank you God for life!

The horror of death
is painful to see.
The agony of suffering
is too much to bear.
The tears of joyfulness,
The feeling of life.

The Last two and updates

The Last Two Times and Updates:
The Last two times he each had three or more. :( We rushed him to the fort walton hospital once again, but the very last time he had a seizure he woke up in the middle of the night telling mom he wasnt feeling right. Also he could not control his left hand or left leg at all. That was scary. That same night the doctors found a mass and bleed in his right side of his brain. They then admitted him to the hospital in fort walton. He had surgery soon after to get the stage 4 cancer out. The cancer is not curable, but we do believe in miracles from God and we are all praying for him. The cancer may not be curable but it can be helped from killing him. We are going to New York City soon like within the next week for cancer radiation treatment and chemo. This is a hard thing to accept and deal with but some how we as a family are managing( I think we are able to do that thru GOD.). I will have to say this much. I HATE CANCER!!!!! My moms dad also has cancer, but his is prostate in 30 places. :( All we can do at this point is keep a positive attitude and pray to God for a miracle. Hope this is the update everyone wants. Luv Yall and we especially LOVE GOD!!! :)
ps- we will be in nyc for 6 weeks and after that dont have any idea.

Ferrell Sasser's First Seizure

The first day:(by his daughter Miranda)Thursday May 6, 2010
It was an everyday normal day. Mom and the two of us girls got home from school. Austin wasn't home yet because he was at a friends house. Dad hadn't gotten home quite yet but me, Dayna, and Mom were helping me get ready for a Junior/Senior banquet that would be on the next night. When dad walked in the door he ate a piece of cake that Dayna had cooked. Dayna was still helping me get ready for the banquet on the couch in mom and dads bedroom. Dad just laid down to sleep. Mom was sewing my dress up. (It had been 30 min. after dad laid down to sleep)Dad was talking to someone(I don't remember who to) and all of a sudden dads hands went straight up then quickly bent to his chest. He started to shake up and down like crazy. Mom reached over and told him "Ferrell stop thats not funny!" She then realized he wasn't joking or goofing off. She told him again as well as me and dayna. When it hit that it wasn't a joke me and Dayna jumped off the couch and stood there and screamed in horror for ten seconds. Dad at this point was just laying there purple in the face, his eyes rolled in the back of his head, and he wasn't breathing. Mom screamed: "Ferrrell breath. Ferrell!" I have never seen mom jump as far until she jumped over him and onto the floor. She immediately started pumping his chest because she thought he was having a hear attack. I jumped up there and started to help her, but i realized someone had to call 911 and it wouldn't be her. So I ran to call 911 while Dayna was helping mom pump. Mom yelled: "Dayna go get a spoon." (She thought dad was having a heart attack and he had stopped breathing) So Dayna went to get a spoon while I was screaming at 911. I kept yelling at mom: "Mom is he breathing. Is he a live?" She answered: "No. IDk." Finally two ambulances got there, a fire truck, a rescue squad, and a ton of cops showed up. Once they got him rolled on his side he started to struggle for breath. Dayna was crying while mom was still telling dad: "Breath Ferrell." As soon as he was able to breath he turned over and started snoring. I was like is he a sleep. After the ambulance people got dad on the stretcher he started fighting and pulling things off.(one of dad's sisters friends who went to school with her: Sissy was an emt paramedic and was there.) They rushed Dad in to the er in crestview. That night they were gonna let him come home, but mom told them no. Because we were afraid it was gonna happen again. The next day he went home and didn't have another for an entire week.
